CHAPTERS 7 and 8 ( THE GIRLS YOU LOVE ARE MINE / RACING AGAINST THE SUN)
Write the answers to the following activities in a piece of paper to hand in on the 4th or 5th February
After reading both chapters do the following activities: page 115 activity 1; page 130 activity 1 and pages 130 to 132 activity 2
page 140-141: photocopy these two pages, cut out the pictures and stick them on paper in the right order. Write at least a sentence under each picture to narrate what is happening (you may use the words that were used in the book ; page 142 - 143 activity 4

At the end of the story, the main characters manage to kill Dracula just in time, seconds before the sun
sets. Yet, imagine that the six are just too late and that when they catch up with the Slovaks, they have delivered Dracula's box to his castle and locked it up in the chapel. Write an alternative ending.
2. Did you enjoy "Dracula"? Why or Why not? Explain your answer with appropriate justifications.
CHAPTERS 5 and 6 ( THE BLOOFER WOMAN / BATTLE PLANS)

On page 84 Mina tells Dr. Van Helsing that "Jonathan seemed afraid [because they] had seen a strange man in London who Jonathan said was Count Dracula" . Describe that moment (where were they? When was it? What was each of them doing? How did Jonathan and Dracula react?....)
Imagine you are a newspaper reporter who is going to interview the parent of one of the children missing in Hampstead. Write the full interview (questions and answers)
Choose 3 of the following questions and answer them giving as much information as possible. Use the paragraph style to answer them: introductory-topic sentence; body paragraphs with ideas supporting your topic sentences; summary-conclusion.
a) Why do you think Count Dracula decided to go to England first and not, for example, to France or Italy?
b) Do you think Van HElsing is a worthy adversary for Count Dracula? Why? or Why not?
c) What do you think frightens Jonathan Harker the most about the Count?
d) Why do you think the Count decided to attack Lucy?
e) Why do you think Renfield is afraid for Mina Murray? (on page 95 he tells her "Good bye, my dear. I pray to God that I will never see your sweet face again. May God Bless you and protect you.")
f)Do you think this is the first time Proffessor Van Helsing fights a vampire?
g) In your opinion, why does Renfield want to leave the asylum even if he feels well being there?
CHAPTERS 3 and 4 ( THE COUNT ARRIVES IN ENGLAND / GIVING AND TAKING BLOOD)
Write the answers to the following activities in a piece of paper to hand in on the 30th November
- After
reading both chapters do activity 1 (page 56) and activities 1, 2 and 3 ( from page 71 to 73)
- On pages 52 and 53 we find a newspaper report about a ghost ship named "The Demeter" where only the dead body of the captain was found. Imagine there is a diary next to the captain. He had been written in it during the whole voyage, what did he write in the last two hours being alive? (use your imagination without forgetting about the plot of the story)
- On page 66 Lucy says the following words "Not, if you are like me. Sleep, for me, is the beginning of horror" What does she mean with those words? (justify your answer)
CHAPTERS 1 and; 2 ( THE DEAD TRAVEL FAST / A PRISONER IN COUNT DRACULA'S CASTLE)

- After reading both chapters do activity 1 (page 22) and activity 1 (page 37) --> answer the questions using your own words. Do not copy directly from the text.
- You are a passenger on the coach carrying Jonathan Harker to the Borgo Pass. Write a conversation between you and Jonathan
- Bram Stroker as well as Charles Dickens in his tale "A Christmas Carol" uses the words "the dead travel fast"; which comes from the poem "Lenore" by Gottfried August Bürger. In your opinion, what do these words mean? Justify / reason your answer.
